Sleep out, Sacramento. For one night, understand what living homeless is like.
On Saturday, November 12, 2011, the inaugural “Sleep Out Sacramento” gives Sacramentans the opportunity to join this life-changing movement...in a safe, and fun, environment.
Hundreds of fellow homeless advocates, service providers and neighbors–all passionate about ending Sacramento’s homeless crisis–will be honoring the homeless by sleeping out.
Make Your Own SOS Event:
SOS organizers encourage groups, associations, schools and faith communities to hold their own “sleep out” gathering dedicated to ending the homeless crisis in the Sacramento region.
Time: Sleep Outs begin at 5:00pm and lasts until 9:00am the following morning.
Goal: To raise $100,000 for Sacramento’s homeless

Can’t join the Sleep Out?
No problem! Show your support by donating to our Texting Campaign!
Using your mobile phone, text the letters “SOS” to 41518, and a $5 donation will go towards supporting homeless families and children.
What difference does your $5 donation make?
- A day of medication
- 2 weeks supply of diapers
- 2 warm meals
- Dry socks for a month
- A winter jacket
- A child’s backpack and school supplies

Organizers: Cottage Housing, Inc. alongside collaborative partners, Francis House Center and Legal Services of Northern California, are asking you to dedicate your night and at least one text message to Sacramento’s homeless families and individuals. All donations will benefit homeless families and individuals affiliated with the three partners' organizations.
